Description
This hand stitched kilt has a shaped layer of canvas inside and is cotton lined which really adds structure and as you wear this kilt it moulds to your body shape. The shaping of the kilt is all hand stitched into the pleats so this curves into your back and gives the pleats maximum 'swing'.
The tweed has a lovely edge that can just be left, like in the photo, or we can add a hem.
We can also add a contrasting fringe and waistband. Please contact support@scotclans.com about this and we can advise.
To Measure
It is important to get someone else to measure you. If you are unable to find your sizes in the drop downs please just contact us at support@scotclans.com.
Natural Waist
This is the starting point. Take your normal waist measurement, this is often around the thinnest part. Your natural waistline hits at the area between the top of your hip bone and the bottom of your rib cage. To find this if you stand straight then bend to the side without bending forward, it's where your body creases on the side.
You need to take a measurement around your natural waist.
Seat/Hip
Take the widest area across the bottom, and measure around, do not put the tape measure tight, this should be a fairly loose measurement.
Kilt Length
Unlike Gent's Kilts, Ladies Kilts can be any length.
Stand straight looking forward. Then get someone to measure from your natural waist straight down to the desired length. BUT - Add on an inch to this measurement to allow for the waistband.
This is a custom made kilt, please allow for 4-5 weeks to have this hand stitched. If you need it for a specific date please contact us.
